Temu lawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza L.) is a medicinal plant belonging to the tribe-finding meeting (Zingiberaceae) . These plants come from Indonesia, especially Java, then spread to several places in the Indo-Malayan region. Currently, most aquaculture temu lawak are in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines. The name of the area in which Java temu lawak, in the Sunda called koneng BIG, whereas in Madura called Intersection labak . This plant can grow well in lowland until height of 1500 meters above sea level and berhabitat in tropical forests . Temu lawak rhizomes can grow well on fertile soil.
